Description

Iskoola Pota, translating to “School Book” in Sinhala, is one of the most foundational and widely recognized digital fonts for the Sinhala script. Created to standardize and promote Sinhala computing in Sri Lanka, it features a clear, monolinear design with open letterforms optimized for readability in textbooks, government publications, and early computer screens. For a generation, it was the de facto standard for digitizing Sinhala content, playing a crucial role in the island’s transition to digital literacy and administration. Its familiar, functional aesthetic remains deeply associated with official and educational communication in Sri Lanka.
