Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 19, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how CoFonts (“we,” “us,” “our,” or the “Owner”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit cofonts.com (the “Site” or “Service”). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information You Provide

We receive and store information you knowingly provide to us — for example, your name and email address when you leave a comment, or whatever you include when you contact us directly. You can choose not to provide certain information, but you may then be unable to use some features (such as commenting).

Non-Personal Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, our servers and analytics tools automatically record information your browser sends: your device’s IP address, browser type and version, operating system, language preference, referring page, pages visited, time spent on pages, search queries entered on the Site, access times, and similar statistics. This is collected via Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager.

Cookies

  • Essential: a small cookie (cofonts_viewed_*) that expires after 24 hours, used only to avoid counting repeat page views from the same visitor toward a font’s view count. It does not identify you personally.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics, via Google Tag Manager.
  • Advertising: if/when enabled, Google AdSense and Envato affiliate links may set cookies to serve and measure ads, including ads personalized to your browsing activity across this and other sites. This is governed by Google’s advertising policies; you can review or opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings.

Disabling cookies entirely isn’t recommended, as it affects sites you rely on generally — you can instead manage cookies on a per-site basis through your browser settings. Consult your browser’s documentation for instructions.

2. How and Why We Use Your Information

We use collected information to operate and improve the Site, personalize your experience, moderate comments, understand which fonts and pages are popular, and — where enabled — serve relevant advertising. Non-personal information is used only in aggregate, for identifying abuse and understanding Site usage; it is not used to identify any individual visitor.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing (such as the GDPR), we process your Personal Information when: you’ve given consent for a specific purpose; processing is necessary to provide a service you’ve requested; processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation; or processing serves our legitimate interests (such as Site security or analytics) in a way that doesn’t override your rights. We’re happy to clarify the specific basis that applies if you ask.

3. Third-Party Services

  • Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager — website analytics
  • Google AdSense — advertising (if/when enabled)
  • Envato — affiliate links (if/when enabled)
  • Akismet — spam filtering for comments (processes comment content and metadata; see Automattic’s Privacy Policy)

We do not sell your Personal Information. We share it only with the providers above, as needed for them to perform their function, or when required by law.

4. International Data Transfers

Depending on your location, using the Site may involve transferring and storing your information in a country other than your own — for example, our third-party providers (Google, Automattic) operate infrastructure across multiple countries. If you’re in the European Union or a jurisdiction with similar protections, you’re entitled to learn more about the safeguards in place for such transfers; contact us using the details below.

5. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR if you’re in the EU/UK, or the CCPA if you’re a California resident), you may have the right to:

  • Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent;
  • Object to processing carried out on a basis other than consent;
  • Learn whether we’re processing your information, and obtain a copy of it;
  • Correct inaccurate information;
  • Request restriction of processing, or erasure of your Personal Information, in certain circumstances;
  • Receive your information in a portable, machine-readable format, where technically feasible.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@cofonts.com. Requests are free and we aim to respond within one month.

6. Data Retention

Comment data is retained until you request deletion or we remove it during moderation. Analytics data follows Google’s standard retention settings. The view-counter cookie expires automatically after 24 hours.

7. Information Security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information in our control. That said, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we can’t guarantee the security of data in transit.

8. Data Breach Notification

If we become aware the Site’s security has been compromised or Personal Information has been disclosed to unrelated third parties as a result of a security incident, we’ll take reasonable steps to investigate and, where there’s a meaningful risk of harm or notice is legally required, notify affected individuals — typically via a notice posted on the Site.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with Personal Information, contact us and we’ll remove it.

10. Links to Other Websites

The Site may link to other websites we don’t own or control. We’re not responsible for their privacy practices — review each site’s own policy before providing information to it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, effective upon posting the updated version here, with the “Last updated” date revised accordingly. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the update.

12. Acceptance of This Policy

By using the Site, you acknowledge you’ve read this Policy and agree to its terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.
