These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of cofonts.com (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.
1. The Service
CoFonts is a catalog of fonts that can be previewed, generated as text images, and downloaded, along with related tools (font generator, character map).
2. Font Licensing — Read This Before Using Any Font
CoFonts does not own the fonts listed on this Site. Each font is the intellectual property of its own designer or foundry and is distributed under that designer’s own license terms — commonly “Free for personal use” or “Free for commercial use,” shown on each font’s individual page. It is your responsibility to review and comply with the specific license of any font before using it, especially for commercial projects. Where a commercial license is required, contact the font’s designer directly. CoFonts is not responsible for how you use a downloaded font or for verifying licensing terms on your behalf.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose;
- Attempt to interfere with the Site’s normal operation (e.g., scraping at scale, attacking infrastructure);
- Upload or submit content (such as comments) that is unlawful, abusive, or infringes someone else’s rights;
- Misrepresent a font’s license terms to others.
4. Comments
If commenting is enabled, you’re responsible for what you post. We use automated spam filtering (Akismet) and reserve the right to moderate, edit, or remove any comment at our discretion.
5. Intellectual Property — Site Content
The Site’s own design, text, logo, and software (excluding the individual font files themselves, which belong to their respective creators) are owned by CoFonts or its licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission.
6. Third-Party Links and Advertising
The Site may display ads (e.g., Google AdSense) or affiliate links (e.g., Envato). We aren’t responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party sites linked from or advertised on the Site.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and all fonts and tools on it are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don’t guarantee the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any font file is free of defects.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CoFonts will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or any font downloaded from it, including damages related to font licensing disputes with third parties.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold CoFonts harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the Site or violation of a font’s license terms.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
